A documentary-style film showing how memory manifests itself physically on the human body through our movements and body language. Although this film was somewhat planned and coordinated this piece as much as I could with planning (interview atmosphere, questions, camera angles etc), it was experimental as I had no control over what the participants did or how they acted. The finished film was mostly reliant upon human nature and behaviour, hence the documentary-style of filming where the camera remains still, and the subjects ‘speak’. The film presents the physicality of 'remembering' by delivering it to you in stages - hand gestures, laughing, nostalgic glances, body movements, touching faces and closing eyes. It is fascinating as a viewer to be a fly-on-the-wall and be able to view human behaviour and social interaction in such an intimate way.
Filmed using Samsung S20 Ultra smartphone and tripod. Compiled and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Location - Greater Manchester, United Kingdom
